Why Now is the Perfect Time to Sell – Even If You’re Cozy by the Fireplace!
The National Election is over, the evenings are darker, and a cozy fire sounds far more inviting than house showings, right? Yet, here’s a surprising truth: now is the perfect time to list your home! Here in New Hampshire, we’re seeing a seasonal lull, but there’s something unique about this time of year that smart sellers take advantage of. And if you’re thinking buyers are hibernating – think again!
Believe me, I’ve seen it all. Over the years, I’ve helped plenty of sellers through holiday sales – from pre-Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Year’s! I’ve even found myself shoveling my way through a blizzard to reach a house, keys in hand, while the sellers were sunning in Florida. Snow and all, we sold it! Buyers brave the elements when there’s a property shortage. And right now? There’s a severe shortage of listings.
Why Winter Listings Have an Edge
So why would anyone list in the chilly months? For one, your home never looks better than it does when it’s warm, decorated, and glowing. Buyers get a cozy, lived-in feel – they’re drawn to the warmth, the lights, and even the smell of freshly baked cookies in the air (pro tip: bake something fragrant on showing days!). Plus, with fewer homes on the market, you’re not lost in the usual springtime real estate flood. Less competition means more eyes on your listing.
As a seasoned real estate marketer, I know how to harness the appeal of wintertime listings. After all, I'm Vanessa Saunders, a real estate marketing maven and the Founder and CEO of Global Property Systems. Since moving to the beautiful Granite State, I’m proud to serve as an Associate Broker at Keeler Family Realtors, a Concord-based brokerage with over 40 years of experience. And with our cloud-based systems and Local Area Specialists throughout New Hampshire, we’re primed to showcase homes in ways that make buyers line up!
Buyer Demand Is Strong – Even Now!
Buyers are still out there, eager to find homes, despite the chilly weather. There’s a level of seriousness to buyers who brave cold temperatures and early sunsets – they’re not just browsing; they’re ready to move. And with inventory so low, homes that hit the market now have a spotlight on them. No one’s waiting until spring if they can find “the one” today.
